The same stretch, every day, and the tightness still comes back. The reason sits one layer deeper.

You stretch. It feels good for an hour, maybe a morning. Then the tightness creeps back to exactly where it was, as if the stretch never happened.

Wrapping every muscle, bone and organ is a continuous web of connective tissue called fascia. It is what lets you move as one connected piece. When it dries out, thickens or gets stuck, you feel tight no matter how long you hold a pose, because the pose was never reaching it.

Fascia does not respond to a long pull the way a muscle does. It answers to something else: slow, specific pressure and small, deliberate movement that rehydrates the tissue and teaches the whole web to glide again. Skip that layer, and the tightness always finds its way back.

Do you first need to be a certified Yoga instructor to do this course?

No, it’s open to anyone. The lessons are explained step by step; no prior yoga training required. A lot of our members are yoga teachers using it for personal practice or CEs, but most aren’t teachers.

Yes: 1.2 CEUs with Yoga Alliance upon completion (the same line that’s on the YI training page). For other CE bodies (NCTMB, PT/OT), check with your provider whether they accept Yoga Alliance hours.
